This is the streets of Assergi, the village closest to the lab. It is a small village clinging onto the mountain side, with grandmas coming out to pull your collars together to make sure you're warm. What a treasure. People actually live here and drive here. You can see photos from my previous trip there here. It really is quite spectacular.
