Now that Papa is done with his talk, we can all spend the day together in Chicago. Chicago has a very nice zoo called the Lincoln Park Zoo, and it's even free! Yuki watched the tiger growling, monkeys swinging, birds pecking, and seals swimming, but she was most interested in other babies and children. And there were many! If you are ever looking to buy something for babies, like stroller for example, this is the place to come. We took a little rest on the grass after walking through the zoo and the conservatory and she showed off her newest tricks.

We are back in Chicago for a visit. Papa had to give a talk so Yuki and mama spent the day in Chicago. We walked in the park and went to the Art Institute (Go Lions!). They had some gold beads hanging in the entry into the modern section and Yuki had a lot of fun going through them. Click here for more photos.

Aunty Ann is now Doctor Aunty Ann. Congratulations! Yuki tried so hard to sit through the graduation ceremony but she had to get up and stretch her legs and exercise her lungs a few times. She cheered and waved her arms with us when Ann went up to get her diploma. We will miss having her within driving distance, but will go visit her new home in her new home city-state for sure! Papa is teaching Yuki how to help out in the kitchen. What a perfect Mother's day gift :) Actually, she loves the dishwasher. Whenever we open the door she comes running over (well, the crawling equivalent) to see what's going on.
Afterward, she was exhausted and took a nice long nap!

It is finally spring in Madison and Yuki has finally tasted grass now that the snow has melted and we can see the ground. Our magnolia is in full bloom, and it's not quite "ohanami" but we had a little picnic outside in the sun.

Today is Papa's birthday and he got birthday candles on his breakfast cereal. Yuki is giving him a special smile for today to make up for mama having to spend the whole day in a meeting. And she's waiting for the wrapping paper and ribbons to play with.
